Mise En Scene
The concept of this project came from reinterpreting a fantasy film called “The Wings of Desire”- wherein an angel falls from Heaven to live amongst humans. My client was a cabinet-maker who enjoys cooking and entertaining guests. I designed the house to open just like a wooden cabinet. The unique aspect of this house are the moving rooms that are powered by a lever connected to a pulley. This is so that I may replicate the angel in the film’s free-spirited movements, all the while ensuring a heavenly atmosphere from the light shining gently through a sculptural translucent roof.
